Four good news in one

Thursday 26th January 2017, the ‛FR’ Faucon du Loup (Darweesh) won the Al Maktoum Challenge Round II (Gr. I PA). On Meydan’s track, he finished eleven lengths ahead. At the same time, he broke the 2,200 metres Meydan track record for a Purebred Arabian. This success is a good news for several reasons.

  • Faucon du Loup should now run in the Dubai Kahayla Classic (Gr. I PA). In which he will be confronted to another level of horses, but the style in which he won gives him the right to hope for a podium and why not a success. The time of the race talks for itself and proves he likes the track he was running on for the first time. A key element in Meydan.
  • In Russia, Faucon du Loup is a champion, he won several Group I PAs. He was bought in 2012 during the Arqana sale in Saint-Cloud, organized by Arqana in partnership with the Afac. His win is a big signal for buyers from the Gulf and Eastern countries: they can buy horses able to win at the best international level during this sale. Good expectations for the 2017 edition.
  • Faucon du Loup was born at Jean-Marc Saphores’farm, A French Purebred Arabian breeder since 1975, when Chéri Bibi was born, his first Purebred foal. The fact that the French breeders, including those who don’t have a big structure, continue to be performant against big Gulf stables is a very positive sign for the French bloodstock.
  • Faucon du Loup is trained by Élise Jeanne, who won her first Group I PA. It is a dream come true for this French woman who has been training in the United Arab Emirates for the past fifteen years. Another French able to distinguish herself in the Purebred Arabian industry!

May 2017 confirms the excellent omen that is made of success, on the tracks, at the sales and in the studs.
