EDITO - Blue
The horses of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Thani painted the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (Gr. I) weekend in blue. Over three days, the Parisian region hosted four Group 1s for Purebred Arabians. In the presence of their owner and breeder, Rajeh and Goumoh seized first and third place respectively in the Qatar Total Arabian Trophy des Poulains (Gr. I PA). Forty-eight hours later, Gazwan and Ebraz followed them onto the podium in the Qatar Arabian World Cup (Gr. I PA). This was the fourth win in the Purebred Arabian 'Arc' for Al Shahania and Julian Smart. A record. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Thani’s racing operation has stormed onto the scene with huge success. In racing, the most difficult thing is to stay at the top of the game. To remain at the top level, as competition in Purebred Arabian racing becomes increasingly international, one must always question oneself. Al Shahania’s new strategy is very clear: to have a strong presence in France, in both racing and breeding, to succeed internationally. This is the choice of a true horseman. With Rajeh and Ebraz spearheading this charge, 2018 looks hopeful.
