The "FR" Lwsail (Amer) took his first Group win in the Jebel Ali Racecourse Za’abeel International Stakes (Gr. I PA). He was coming off a close second place in the Prix Damas (Gr. III PA) behind Mabrooka (Mahabb). Owned by Al Shaqab, he quickly took command of the race, and when Julien Augé asked him to accelerate, he outclassed his rivals to win by ten lengths. The 'Rohaut' Barnamaj (No Risk Al Maury), finished in second.

The trainer of the winner, Thomas Fourcy, explained: “I have had this race in mind for him all year. I have always liked this colt. He won on his debut at Bordeaux, over 1,400 meters. However when he then ran over further, he didn’t breathe as he is very keen. He was coming off a good second place at Dax, behind the very smart Mabrooka”.

The son of a champion. Lwsail was bred by His Excellency Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani. His dam, Kerra, won thirteen races, including the Coupe d’Europe du Cheval Arabe (Gr. I PA). She is a sister to the sire Parador (Dormane), winner of eleven races including the Al Maktoum Challenge Round III (Gr. I PA)

The sisters of Kerra have amongst their progeny Karel (Dormane), a three time winner and second in the Abu Dhabi Championship (Gr. I PA), Kerjam (Dormane) winner of the Prix du Président des UAE (Gr. I PA), Dorfa (Dormane) –ten victories including the Emir’s Sword (Gr. I PA)– and the stallion Kerbella (Kesberoy).
