The Grand Prix Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan: a tale of total "FR" bred domination
Adi de Saint Lon (Al Saoudi) proved an easy winner of the Grand Prix Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan (L PA) on Sunday, April 21st. The Jawad Hariti-trained runner accounted for the defending champion and French raider Aoun (Mahabb) in the colours of Zakaria Semlali. This backward type has achieved full maturity at the age of six. A multiple winner at black type level in Morocco, including the Prix Ouarzazate (LPA), he has been heralded as the best Purebred Arabian currently trained in the kingdom by the local press.
Adi de Saint Lon is the brother of Autza (Jaman), a well-known performer on the Moroccan circuit and runner-up in the President of the UAE Cup (L PA). These two performers were bred in the Landes region by Xavier and Michel Poydenot, the same brains’ trust responsible for the top stallion Azadi (Darike).
Second in this edition of the Grand Prix Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Aoun was bred in France by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The third, Fawzi Al Mels (Baseq Al Khalediah), carries the Michèle Viguie affix and is also French-bred.
