GRAND PRIX DE S.A.R. LE PRINCE MOULAY RACHID - Al Noury makes a triumphant homecoming

CASABLANCA (MOR), 17th November 2019

L PA - 3-year-olds - 1,750m, DH 800,000

A recent fifth in the Qatar Arabian Trophy des Poulains (Gr1 PA), Al Noury (No Risk Al Maury) regained the winning thread on his return to his homeland. It marked his third win in five starts, having also landed the "Derby des 3ans" (Derby for 3-year-olds) over this course at the backend of June. The Zak Bloodstock runner, having bided his time at the rear, made headway away from the rail down the backstretch. After quickening into the lead, the colt recorded an easy success. Thomas Fourcy, the winning trainer, said: "Last time out, we were hung out to dry. The challenge in front of us today wasn’t an easy one. However, the colt responded to this by delivering in style. I’m unsure whether he will remain in Morocco or be returning to France."

The French-born Béryl de Pompadour (Josco du Cayrou) claimed second after outpointing Berkania Fal (Af Albahar). There was an incident during the race as the front running,

Madjeira de Thouars (Majd Al Arab), veered sharply left in the backstretch, and this put paid to her chances.

Out of a sister to Wall Street. Bred by the Zak Stud, Al Noury is a son of the excellent No Risk Al Maury (Kesberoy), the Shadwell sire based at the Haras de Saint-Faust. Win and See (Tidjani), the dam, won five races but, above all, she is the sister of the Prix Dragon (Gr2 PA) winning Wall Street (Zacan El Baraka). The great grandam Wapitie (Manganate) annexed both the Abu Dhabi International Stakes and the Hatta international Stakes (Grs1 PA). This is the close family of the quintuple winning and National Day Gold Cup (Gr1 PA),

hero Bengal Lotois (Bengali d’Albret); the Jumeirah International Stakes (Gr2 PA) second Mousse d’Eau (Dormane); the Arabian Trophy des Poulains third at Saint-Cloud (Gr1 PA): Ghalib (Munjiz); plus Rasikh (Sire d'Albret). The latter was second in the Coupe de France des Chevaux Arabes at Chantilly (Gr1 PA)…
