THE WORD OF AFAC - The membership benefits to the tune of 20 in the stallion nominations’ draw
Every year, AFAC (Association Française du Cheval Arabe de Course) organises its annual draw which enables breeders to send their mares to designated stallions. Bordeaux- Le Bouscat racecourse hosted the 2019 event, which coincided with the running of the French Arabian Breeders' Challenge Classic - H.H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan (Gr1 PA). Jean-Michel Descamps, the racecourse president and his team, were hosting this unquestioned highlight of the PA racing calendar for the first time. The warmth of their welcome and availability contributed to the success of this great occasion. The ‘stallions’ draw is open to the current membership, and it enables the participating breeders to secure some prestigious stallion nominations. As these are free, it allows the ‘breeder’ donors to showcase their particular stallions. It also afforded the membership the opportunity of engaging with each other in a convivial atmosphere, and against the backdrop of drinks being served in the owners’ lounge. It was also the occasion for them to exchange their views on current topics, and with particular relevance to the regional and national elections of France Galop.
AFAC would also like to express its gratitude to all the participants but, in particular, to the generous donor breeders, as this event couldn’t take place without them. Furthermore,
Axelle Nègre de Watrigant would like to thank the membership for their presence, and their involvement during the elections. Thanks to the election of several representatives on the PA ticket, we will be able to make our voices heard in the corridors of power – and in favour of PA racing.
