The Word of AFAC: Clélia Cabanne joins the team

AFAC is delighted to welcome Clélia Cabanne into its ranks and she will assist Mélanie Vanlemberghe prior to and during her period of maternity leave. Clélia has a masters degree in communication and is passionate about the horse racing sector. Her knowledge will serve to both enrich and diversify AFAC’s promotional strategy. Her professional background, given her communications and special events grounding forged vis-à-vis such bodies such as the Selle Français Stud-Book, France Galop, Arqana and the Aga Khan Studs, should ensure for the PA sector.

The PA sales, unique to Europe, will take place at Saint-Cloud racecourse on the eve of the prestigious Arc de Triomphe weekend at Paris-Longchamp, namely September 30th. The registration process for this begins on May 31st, via the Arqana website, and closes on June 29th

Don't forget that, from this year, and with regard to May 5th onwards, that access to the sales and the racecourse is conditional to horses being up to date with their vaccinations, and with particular relevance to the new France Galop regulations, which require booster doses for equine flu (within six months) and equine herpes (within 12 months).

The classic season got underway at Toulouse racecourse on Sunday, April 26th with the running of the Sheikh Mansoor Festival - Prix Nefta (Gr2 PA) which went to Jalela (Mister Ginoux), whereas the Prix de Carthage (Gr2 PA) was annexed by last season’s Qatar Derby des Pur-Sang Arabes de 4ans (Gr1 PA) 2020 victor, Hattal (Mahabb). It will continue throughout May via the staging of the Prix Damas (Gr3 PA), the Qatar Prix de l'Elevage (Gr2 PA) and The President of the UAE Cup - Coupe d’Europe des Chevaux Arabes (Gr1 PA). The latter will be run at as part of the prestigious Poules d'Essai (French Guineas) card. The winner of the 2020 edition was none other than Deryan (Mahabb), and who went on to capture the Dubai Kahayla Classic (Gr1 PA) at Meydan in March!

We are hoping for a rapid return of the public to our racecourses, and France Galop recently wrote to the relevant bodies with a view to requesting authorisation for this.

Nous espérons un retour rapide du public sur nos hippodromes, un courrier ayant été écrit récemment par France Galop à la Tutelle pour en demander l’autorisation.
