Return of Mares de Weatherbys
Qui sont les étalons qui ont le plus saillie cette année en Irlande et en Angleterre ?
Alors que beaucoup d’éleveurs sont plongés dans leur plan de croisement 2024, Weatherbys a récemment publié son Return of Mares 2023. Un “indispensable” que beaucoup vont “éplucher” durant les 12 mois à venir.
Les 356 pages du Return of Mares 2023 réserve des surprises à chaque page. Comme le fait que la Yeguada Centurion a envoyé Queen Blossom (mère de Blue Rose Cen). Dans la file d’attente, à Banstead Manor Stud, elles ont croisé quelques poulinières de Son Altesse l’Aga Khan, de Wertheimer & Frère, de l’écurie des Monceaux… Leopoldo Fernández Pujals a confié Hardiyna (mère de Big Rock) à Churchill (Galileo).
L’Irlande reprend le leadership.
Ces dernières années, l’Angleterre a un peu refait son retard sur l’Irlande grâce à plusieurs très bons jeunes étalon. Très clairement, en 2023, les étalons Irlandais ont quasiment annihilé la concurrence brittanique. Les jeunes sires de Coolmore se sont révélés exceptionnelement populaires. En particulier Sioux Nation (Scat Daddy) qui, avec 289 juments, atteint des scores digne d’un étalon d’obstacle. Dans les tableaux ci-dessous vous retrouvez Nathaniel (Galileo) dans les deux tableaux car il est l’un des rares étalons “dual purpose” outre-Manche.
